Hernan Acosta is an experienced soccer coach with 18 years of coaching experience, working with players from U8 through U19. He has coached with Key Biscayne Soccer Club, Pathway School, Miami Futbol Academy, Doral Soccer Club, and Felix Varela Senior High School.
Throughout his coaching career, Hernan has gained extensive experience in national and international competition. His teams have participated in tournaments in Spain and Mexico, including the Donosti Cup, Lanzarote Cup, MAD Cup, Generation Adidas International, and Benados Cup. In the United States, his experience includes the Youth World Challenge, Generation Adidas Showcase, EDP Cup Junior Showcase, Premier SuperCopa Junior Showcase, North Carolina Showcase Series, Disney Showcase, and USYS State, Region, and National Cups.
Hernan is motivated by seeing the evolution of each individual player and the growth of his teams throughout every stage of the development process.
Before coaching, Hernan played professionally for eight years, competing in Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, and Puerto Rico through 2010. His playing accomplishments include winning a national championship.
Hernan studied Sports Management at Politécnico Colombiano and Graphic Design for Advertising at CESDE.
Fun Fact: He’s a very cheerful person.
Favorite Soccer Memory: The day he achieved his goal of playing in the First Division.
